Data Science, Technology and Innovation Development Review

  • DDI Funding: £7800
  • Timescale: February - April 2019
  • Lead Hub: Bayes Centre

The Data Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) is a portfolio of postgraduate online learning qualifications hosted by the University of Edinburgh’s College of Science and Engineering.

The programme launched in January 2016 and has grown, with new courses added from across the University each year.

Most students on the DSTI programme are working professionals, with over 40 countries represented and the majority coming from within the UK.

This review of the curriculum and its delivery models will ensure DSTI can grow in a way which contributes to the Data-Driven Innovation initiative’s skills targets and align more closely with one of its hubs, the Bayes Centre.

The review will include discussions with industry to ensure that DSTI grows in a way that directly benefits the industry skills required in the local data science sectors. It will also enable more of the University’s Schools to contribute to this growing online learning programme.
