Life Sciences Award for CanCan Diagnostics
Scotland’s Life Sciences Awards 2026 is a prestigious annual conference and awards which brings together industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to celebrate outstanding individuals and teams across nine categories.
From an impressive list of finalists, the winners were announced at a glittering ceremony on 12th March at the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Central.
Roslin Innovation Centre was delighted to have several tenant companies amongst the finalists, with CanCan Diagnostics scooping the award for ‘Innovation: Animal Health, Agritech and Aquaculture’, in recognition of their work in developing and commercialising advanced molecular diagnostic solutions for dogs with cancer, designed to address critical unmet needs in veterinary clinical practice.
CanCan Diagnostics has developed a less invasive form of screening, applying innovative technology in the early diagnosis and monitoring of canine cancer, one of the leading causes of death in dogs.
Val Hughes-White, Roslin Innovation Centre Director, said, “We’re delighted that CanCan Diagnostics won the ‘Innovation: Animal Health, Agritech and Aquaculture’ category, and proud to have the team as part of our innovation ecosystem at Roslin Innovation Centre. Congratulations to our other shortlisted finalists; Roslin Technologies and Wobble Genomics. It is an amazing achievement to get to this stage. Scotland’s Life Sciences Conference & Awards once again has showcased the amazing talent we have within the life sciences sector in Scotland.”
Maciej Parys, Founder/CEO of CanCan Diagnostics and Clinical Lecturer at Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, said, “This recognition reflects our team’s unwavering commitment to transforming cancer care for animals worldwide. “As we accelerate adoption of our canine diagnostic test, we’re excited to pioneer the first-in-class feline liquid biopsy—extending life-saving precision medicine to cats with cancer.”
